I have been sitting here for five hours or so doing a stupid research paper for my AP Language class (ugh), and it occurred to me that I could test the life of a battery myself. I turned it on at 8:04, and right now it is 12:40, and the light has not dimmed significantly yet. I will soon be doing an AP Statistics project on whether Rayovac batteries are as good as Energizer batteries, and I will use this light to determine if there is a difference. I was actually hoping for a 2 hour life (makes my data collection shorter), but I am happily disappointed. I think that the battery life is much longer than they say.
